Patricia Withers is an accomplished mediator/arbitrator and has been in private practice since 2004 in Calgary and throughout Alberta. In 2008, she was awarded the Chartered Mediator designation from ADR Institute of Canada. She has mediated/arbitrated hundreds of cases of every kind and complexity.
Her Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) experience includes arbitration/tribunal proceedings; business/commercial; insurance; oil and gas; Shareholder/Partnership; estates; landlord/tenant;
divorce; employment, labor and workplace disputes.
Ms. Withers holds a Masters in Business Administration from Queen’s University and Certification in Arbitration from ADR Institute of Alberta. Patricia has an extensive legal, entrepreneurial and business background with experience in oilfield service, commercial and residential real estate, construction and business consulting. She is a Past President of Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Alberta (ADRIA) and served several years on the Board of Directors and various sub committees.
In 2011, Ms. Withers was appointed to the Alberta Human Services Appeal Panels and served as Chair and panel member for various tribunals. She is a roster mediator for Provincial Police Complaint Mediation; Alberta Court of Justice; and the Canadian Transportation Agency.
As a strong advocate for effective communication, Patricia instructs and coaches communication, conflict resolution and negotiation for individuals as well as various institutions, organizations and private corporations. She has written articles on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) that have been published in various trade and business publications.
In addition to her ADR practice, Ms. Withers is a member of the ADR Institute of Canada, ADR Institute of Alberta, American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section and has been a volunteer mediator for Community Mediation and Peer Mediation and Skills Training.
